Georgia is an outstanding personal injury trial attorney with substantial professional experience in both the medical field and injury law. Before attending law school, Georgia was a Registered Nurse and had worked in several hospitals in Washington, Oregon, and Alaska. She finds the practice of law, where she is dedicated to helping those who are seriously injured, to be an extension of her nursing career. With eight years of clinical nursing experience and over 20 years practicing law, Georgia is uniquely qualified to provide effective representation to individuals and families who have been seriously injured.
Having worked as a Registered Nurse in a variety of fields--including the operating room, burn unit, cardiac rehab, and community health--Georgia has the rare understanding and appreciation of one who has "been in the trenches." She knows the pressures, difficulties, and rewards of direct patient care. She also knows that good health care professionals can make preventable medical mistakes. According to the Institute of Medicine (IOM) report. To Err is Human: Building a Safer Health System, the I"M estimates that as many as 98,000 Americans die each year from medical errors that occur in hospitals. To put that figure into perspective, more people die each year from preventable medical mistakes than from vehicle collisions, breast cancer, or AIDS.
Her legal practice focuses on representing individuals and their families in claims involving medical malpractice, work-related injuries, maritime injuries, and automobile collisions. She also handles claims of sexual harassment, wage claims, and employment discrimination. Georgia takes pride in serving the Hispanic community, as she is bilingual in English and Spanish.
Not only is Georgia passionate about her law practice, she is also a goodhearted person. Ms. Locher is well-known in the community for her continual support of public schools. She has served on the Board of Trustees for Highline Schools Foundation for Excellence. In her free time, Ms. Locher enjoys her family and friends. She has been married to her husband, Steve, for nearly 30 years and together they have three grown children, Venessa, Ross, and Jonny.
